“Fifteen years ago, Nobel Laureate Paul Crutzen announced that the world had entered a new geological age, the Anthropocene, marking a fundamental shift in human-nonhuman relations and the onset of a new period of environmental anxiety and existential uncertainty. Geofutures speculates on the future of architecture and urbanism in the Anthropocene by suggesting that the “built environment” embark on establishing new affiliations beyond the human; a fundamental realignment of buildings and cities as no longer significant for “us” alone.” (Chris Perry, Director)
